How Did You Meet Your Best Friend?

How Did You Meet Your Best Friend ???

I don't think I'm one of those people that has a bunch of best friends. I have a TON of acquaintances...and a lot of people that know me, and people that I know. But I'm not one of those people that goes around saying "OH my B.F.F.!!! my best friend"

On one hand I can list my Best Friends:

6th Grade Sarah N: We bonded over a common enemy. Jenny. she was like a fuzzy dumpy troll of a girl ! (ok, maybe not that bad... but she was mean!) We had sleep overs, we played "Pocahontas" in the forest and Rollerblade while eating Popsicles in the summer. (until i moved...then her best friend became..JENNY! I may need therapy for this. ) My first experience with having someone in my life that i loved like family.

High School Amber L:

I needed a tag-team camp counselor for girls camp and we were in the same ward growing up. She was in a few of my classes in high school. Little did i know she would become a major player in my life( and one of the very best camp counselor choices EVER!). Dancing in the car to the radio, teasing her sisters, wreaking my car in her drive-way, laughing at her husband, bad-mouthing her ex husband, and loving and raising her daughter. At times, Amber and her family have been closer to me than my own. I love her for the amazing person she is, and the person she inspires me to be without knowing it.

Post Mission S. Woolley:The first time we met...We didn't like each other at all. couldn't stand each other. But there came a time when we hated those around us more. We couldn't be separated after that. Shes one of the few people I let hug me (that's HUGE) We have played together, cried together. partied together. gone to church together. and have been together thru multiple life changing events. her personality is infectious. I love her.

Current- SueAnn R: We met on a cruise. On the dance floor off the Mexican coast line. we bonded over our hatred of living where we live. we made each other laugh every single day. we still do. we go through the highs and lows of dating and non-datable people. her sarcastic sense of humor makes me smile. her kindness makes me smile. I don't know what I would do without her. Shes seen me at some of my lowest points and helped me laugh through them.

Last but not least Erin M: The first time I met Erin, she gave me a present. how do you not like people that give you things? how? HOW? and it only got better from there. from giggling on the back row of church like chatty 7 year olds. to late night dinners at Texas road house. Even experiencing something with her that i haven't done with anyone in a decade or more. Camping. Erin is hilarious and up for anything. A great friend to have close by for any and all emergencies (Even if she listens to country music.)

I ♥ Diet Dr Pepper.

Its almost past love and borderline addicted obsessive love.

But recently in an attempt to be a little healthier I gave it up. Yup. Cold turkey. Almost 2 months without my morning, afternoon, and evening beverage of choice. I stood strong thru the headaches and said "ill have water" at restaurants... I was strong!! I waved goodbye to caffeine and carbonation...

HOWEVER ...

After seeing ZERO change in my health (despite multiple changes) and being completely and utterly tired for almost 2 months straight... I plan on drinking a huge can of cold crispy cool bubbly 23 original and unknown flavors (I'm almost drooling as I type this out) I cant wait!!! (did I mention COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY TIRED ??????)

I have missed you Dr.!

Monday is the perfect day of the week to vent about things that make you CRAZY!

the little things that get under my skin and could instantly turn my fine-decent-uncomplicated-easy-pleasant Monday morning into a seething pit of black anger!
BUT
while this normally bugs me... today this cracked me up into a hysterical laughter that caused tears in my eyes, sore cheeks from such a tight smile/laugh while enduring looks on others faces that made me think THEY were thinking "OH wow- I'm pretty sure this girl is having a psychotic break... should i call someone or should i just pretend nothing is happening and walk away" - but i digress...

SO

I don't know if this has ever happened to you.

Your standing in line waiting to get on the elevator. you push the button. the doors open and BAM out of nowhere any number of people DASH into the elevator all but shoving you out of the way.

OR

Your inside the elevator (music playing) and *ding* you reach your floor and the doors slowly open and the instant there is at least 3 inches of space in the opening of the doors , someone is shoving there way in , before you get a chance to even to move!

OR
As you are stepping out right as someone steps in and you both get smooshed in the opening !!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ELEVATOR ETIQUETTE !!! ???

Every time i see this occur or end up massaging elevator door marks off my arm ...

I cant help but laugh to myself... well until my psychotic break anyways.

As I look at my blog I realize I don’t post as often as I could(or as often as silly ideas pop into my mind.) BUT its Wednesday and its time again for .....

{1} If you could choose a Super Power, what would it be?
Lets forever set aside the image of me in spandex and a cape. Never. Gunn’a. Happen! (Although I am having flashes of awesome future Halloween costumes! ! ! –You have been warned) As far as super powers are concerned, how cool would it be to just freeze time! *freeze* and put a banana peel under someone’s walking foot *unfreeze* and giggle as they biff it on the sidewalk. *freeze* put a pie inches away from someone’s face *unfreeze* giggle as a cream pie smashed into their face! … The more I go on, the more I sound like a villin *cue evil cackle*

{2} what would be your first frivolous purchase if you were awarded a million dollars tomorrow? (And don't say "that's not a lot of money", it sounds pretentious) I would buy a completely over the top shinny new convertible sports car. Doesn’t matter what type or style… I would just want the one that people would look at and think to themselves- “wow! Nice car! I wish I could take a test drive in that!!! Ohh and that sexy blond behind the wheel doesn’t look that bad either"

{3} What would be the hardest current luxury for you to give up?
Air Conditioning. When the weather here in the desert gets hot enough to cook an egg on the sidewalk, nothing feels as good as blasting the AC in your card and jamming out to some ABBA song, or walking into an air conditioned building with sweat dripping off your face. I shed a little tear of sadness for those that are unaware of the wonderful bliss that is a blast of arctic air in the middle of summertime.

{4} If you were given a choice between being given great wisdom and great wealth, which would you choose?
Wealth!!!! Besides, with all the money and life experiences I could have I could become wise and knowledgeable. Money, money, moooooney-Mo-knee! ;)

{5} If you were to be stranded on a deserted island for 100 days what 5 THINGS would you pack?
This questions was EASY!!! I would spend the rest of my life on any island !!!
1. Swimsuit (as “deserted” as this island might claim to be, I still have my decency)
2. Hammock (never leave home without it!)
3. Pinicolata ingredients (Virgin of course- but cold, frosty, coconutty, pinapple-ee goodness)
4. Trash magazines. (Toss me a people, star, us weekly, or even and enquirer and I’ll be set!)
5. Scuba diving equipment. (Because the only thing equal to the cozy awesomeness of a deserted island is the quiet peace and beauty that is coral reefs under the sea [hope that song gets stuck in your head)

We Want To Know Wednesdays!

Photobucket

My friend Erin turned my on to this new site where they play "We Want To Know Wednesday" So I am going to play along!

{1} what game shows have you always thought you could be on and totally WIN!

Well ... I could TOTALLY win "the Newlywed game" ... but since i am lacking a piece of that puzzle currently( a husband) , I will go with my next option- The Price Is Right! Who wouldn’t want to win a washer/dryer combo, a boat and a log cabin in the woods of the Alaskan wilderness? Plus the wheel ? HECK YES! sign me up! force me to stand in line and be giddy and giggly until the loud voice from above says "Come OoooN DOWN!"

{2} Do you have a tattoo(s)? What are they and what made you chose them? If not, would you get one, yes/no/why? The large panther that covers my back from my thigh to my ear isn’t a dead giveaway of my amazing ink skillz? (with a "Z" because that’s how us cool kids roll) But really, since my mom doesnt read my blog, and Im pretty sure she suspects it anywys... Yes. I have scared my body with the perminent ink. Stupid choice? probubly. Does any one know I have one? very few people(now at least 5 new people- who should probubly keep it to themselves to avoid having my mother speed over to my house and hack a chunk of inked-skin off my body)

{3} what is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own?

I have a simple black beaded long necklace that goes with everything. It was about $7 at Wal-Mart. Thats it. Its easy and classic and go with everything. Enough said.

{4} what is your driving pet peeve(s)?
You can ask my sister, my roommate and pretty much any one that rides in a vehicle with me.

1) I hate break happy drivers. 2) I hate people that go 10 under the speed limit blocking you off. 3) I hate people that drive slow until you try to pass them and then suddenly they feel as if they can go 65 in a school zone. The list goes on and on.

{5} what was your favorite sitcom growing up that you wish was still on?

I loved Full house. The comedy of Bob Saget. The sex appeal of Uncle Jessie (remember the music video he made???? I DO! For your viewing pleasure -->

http://www.myspace.com/video/becki/jesse-and-the-rippers/3777966

The fashion of Stephanie and D.J.. The crazy neighbor. Ahhh what a great show where all family problems are easily solved in 30 min of TV gold.

HIKING=HELL

I hate Hiking I despise it.

(Ryanne/Nicole @ Angles Landing Zion Nat. Park)

I have zero desire to do it.

(Ryanne/Charlie-Subway, Zion Nat Park)

I swear in my head with almost every single step.
(Ryanne/Jon-Angels Landing, Zion Nat Park)

Getting to the top and looking out means nothing to me because I hated every second of getting there... no matter what they say- to me, ITS NEVER WORTH IT!!

I hate having to catch my breath like a 98 year old smoker

(Ryanne- Weeping Rock, Zion Nat Park)

I hate getting red in the face and watching my foot placement so I don't biff it over some branch or rock or skeleton from the last hiker that didn't make it.

(Ryanne- Valley of Fire, NV)

I hate it all. No matter who, what, where, when or why.

(Ryanne-Arches Nat Park-Moab UT)

But I go. I do. I see. I breath. I stop. I get red in the face. I trip over rocks.

I swear in my head.

30 x 30 List

Once upon a time, In a spring-ISH time of year on a Sunday morning a pregnant lady showed up at the hospital. Some time around lunch time a precious ball of wrinkly flesh was coo-ing in a pink blanket.

Welcome to the world ... ME!

Sweet little me was a kind child (or so i have been told... when I wasn't tripping my brother who was 3 years older than me, to climb on top of him and slap him around I was a sweet ball of cuteness.) If you can look past the sexy 'bowl-cut' style of the early '80s (I honestly remember sitting on a stool in the kitchen as my mom slapped a bright orange Tupperware bowl on our heads... so cruel. ) So this year i turn 27. Not a HUGE milestone in the multiple groups of ages. But a birthday non-the-less. In trying to live life to the fullest and experience all things life has to offer me, I have compiled a 30 x 30 list. Thirty things that I want to accomplish in the next 3 years before my 30Th Birthday. Like a bucket list ...only you don't die in the end. I found it a little difficult since the rules I set for it were: *Things I wont already do eventually (buy a house, have kids, fall in love, etc...) *Things I have NOT previously done (difficult since i have done A LOT in 27 years) SO I present my list...

  1. Stay up all night and watch the sun rise.

  2. Participate in a celebratory event for a different culture.

  3. Buy myself something impractical just because I like it. (jewelry?)

  4. Attend a huge sporting event

  5. Grow and eat my own vegetables

  6. Take a hot air balloon

  7. Build something useful to use (something more than a bird house)

  8. Take a road trip all by myself

  9. Go sky diving

  10. Walk the golden gate bridge

  11. Certify in scuba diving

  12. Ride something bigger than a horse.

  13. Go to a major rock star concert.

  14. Fix an entire Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner by myself

  15. Get/learn to use a gun

  16. Learn to ride a motorcycle

  17. Go fishing in Alaska

  18. See an active volcano

  19. Write in my journal once a week until its filled.

  20. Make a piece of art I would be proud to display in my home

  21. Find 5 books that inspire me (not just cover art...but actually READ THEM!!)

  22. Write a letter to a missionary every month for their whole mission.

  23. Compile my memories for posterity.

  24. Name a star

  25. Surprise some one that I love

  26. Organize/ create my own cookbook (for my own personal use)

  27. Attended a taping of a TV show

  28. Have dessert at Serendipity's

  29. See one of the natural wonders of the world

  30. Volunteer outside of the USA (habitat for humanity?)

Wish me luck.
