Mish-Mash of stuff

These are called "Inchies" - getting in touch with my crafty and bored mind...I make these 1inch X 1inch little tinny pices of paper / art, and send them to others all over the world. sounds like a crazy thing to do, expecially if you were to get one, open it up and think "what the crap is this?" BUT you would be wrong- you see, other people from all over are also making these little inchies and sending them to me! based on different "themes" you make them and you swap them. (above picture are inchies i made for the "google-eye" swap. some hand drawing, some randome paper clippings, and a face-card make up my recorses for this one)
Im currently trying to collect 100 WHY? well, i think it would make a fun art piece to slap up on my wall and tell people about it.( weither they ask or not :)) currently in my collection i have inchies from Brazil, Japan, England, Scottland, Sweeden, and many states here in the USA. i only have 52 right now, but that means i have also MADE 52- quite a feat...but if you toss in the bordem fator again, i think im good :)

For FHE with the mormons this past monday, we carved pumkins( original, but its what a family would normally do right?) This masterpiece was inspired by my roomates glasses(super sexy-nerd black rimmed ones! ) although with the light in it kinda looks like roudolph with glasses

Pre lit pumpkin...cool, awsome, swave, mysteriouse pumkin- dont turn your back on this one!

And last ( but not least) is this....PINK mexican resturaunt. Im not all that big on mexi food, BUT this one ( that i only ate at because it WAS PINK!!! and lured me in with its creative and randome paint choice) was AMAZINGLY good! Its got to be the ONE and ONLY thing about Cedar City that I would concider traveling for that im not getting paid for anyways...(Get your mind out of the gutter! i get paid to go work for my Doc up there once a month, sheesh! :) )

The GREAT cup-cake Theory

Cupcakes...Mmmmm-one of the most amazing foods in the world, am i right? cupcakes-able to bring small children and adults to there knees. Absolutly the perfect amount of cake without hunting down a knife, and the perfect amount of icing with out that awkwad end piece with 3 cups worth of the sugar-y gloop. Heaven comes in a muffin tin with a pretty wraper. And in this case caused by bored roomates and an approching holiday season where sugar is celebrated on a grand scale! Mmmmm did i meantion that I LOVE cupcakes? Well within 3 hours 3 tiny little bottles of green orange and purlple food coloring was wrecklessly used, chocolate and vanilla cake was mixed divided and baked at 350degrees-and carlessly, and precisly topped with randome colors of frosting! Giggles were had, goolish designs were added, and sprinkles were left covering not only the cupcakes, but the table and floor( and some other locations we may find later)

Dear St George...

Dear St George,
Since moving here to HELL...er... I mean St George, I have gone thru a few stages.
#1 "ohh this is kinda nice"
#2 " remove all sharp objects im going to hurt myself"
#3 " Better remove all combustable objects too, befor i blow up this town"
#4" there ARE normal aged people here!!"
#5 " okay, its not THAT bad"
and my all around generalized thought...
#6 " just learn to love it, because you can be happy/ unhappy anywhere"
SOOO to embrace my inner hatred and love for you...IE: this city, i am trying to find things to do that will increase my adoration, and decreese my loathing for you.
Such as hiking in Kanarraville caves just south of Cedar City- Its wet, its up-hill, its down-hill, and its beautiful. Since im not a big hiker, and alot of what to do in this city IS hiking related... im learning to cope.( say a small prayer for me)

Next, is the randomeness that is this city- While my awsome roomate and i were out walking on night on your warm, heated streets, we happened up on this- the MOST effective fence in all of this tiny city of STG (just happy and greatful it didnt "house" a big great angry dog)

And Lastley, I have to tell my self just how pretty you as this town actually are- Your not brown and drab, Your not a ugly hazy green- but bright green and red, next to amazingly blue skys( wow i almost convinced myself how pretty you actually are here! scary!) I have a stunning temple less than 3 blocks from my front door, and since the town is so small I usually can get away with a tank of gas a month ( A MONTH!!!)
With all the love that I can muster up towards you, you tiny, packed-full-of-old-people, no shopping, and little if any entertainment one horse town, i will continue to live here, punished as I am-for at least a little while longer.
Love ♥ Ryanne
Maybe this little "love letter" to the STG will strike my heart strings and bring a tear to my eye... but i doubt it.

Dutch Babies...and not the little blond kids in wooden shoes either

Once upon a time, in a land far more north than my current location, is a little box, a pit if you will, a whole in the wall that goes by the name of Merritts Country Cafe. This little Cafe is the home of a happy (and very deliciouse) pile of fried dough dipped in powderd sugar named Dutch "yum" Baby. When its alll alone and warm fresh out of the pool of oil it gets crispy in, and out laying in the sun on a plate- it likes a little cool squirt of lemon. This is where i come in. i take little Dutch and shove it in my mouth and savor and eat and LOVE every second of yummyness that it brings into my life! Its the kind of treat that when you eat your pants tend to fit a little more snug-but you dont care becasue it is incredably worth every sweet, tangy, deliciouse second of it. This was what happened on Saturday. Not having been to Merritts in almost a year i would have kicked myself had i not made a stop in to see my old friend Dutch-Baby. the crooked floor, the cluttered covered walls, the old juke-box and the picture on the bathroom wall (the Birds eyes follow me EVERY time... i swear!!) the smell of coffee are all things i loved when i lived in Boise only a few min drive where all my closest friends would gather at a table or 4 and eat greasy-smokey-truck stop food and enjoy eachothers company. The Waitresses knew us by name and "the regular" that we always would get. Good Times, Good friends, Good food, Tight pants, DUTCH BABIES OF BLISS-nothing more required.

( i told you, fried dough..powderd sugar...lemons...and a gob of honey butter= happyness and tight pants)
(And making them at home just isnt the same.)

Bills, Mail, and a Glue stick!

When i was a missionary,I LOVED getting letters and packages- and now... i get bills- and junk mail... and on the rare occasion, a box( personally purchased off EBay or something) but i wanted to get COOL letters and "stuff" like when i was back in Oklahoma- so i turned to my crafty roommate-WHO told me about... SWAP BOT! - okay so lets start at the beginning...
You could say I'm a little crafty-Martha Stewart ESK even. So when my roommate Danelle turned me on to this sight that allows you to have pen pals, be crafty, and get more than bills in my PO Box i signed the dotted line and logged in to http://www.swapbot.com/

This sight lets you sign up for various art projects so to speak-that you send to multiple one-time "pen-pals". On September 9, 2009 there is a "swap" where you send out 9 postcards, to 9 people- and in return you GET 9 postcards from all over ( the WORLD even!) so while BORED out of my mind at work i crafted me up some post cards- (easy simple layered paper, some glitter, and a little drawings with a sharpie and I'm good to go!) so 9/9/09 someone will be getting one of my 9 ( sensing a theme, no?) home made postcards!

Along the same lines as the postcards only smaller scale is some thing called and "inchie" a 1"X1" piece if art- i have 8 collected so far, and when i reach ...well, more than 8 my plan is to frame them- BUT you make little tiles on little paper or any art medium and you send them, again all over the country/world. Here are some i have made for my upcoming "swap"

A Visual of how small these REALLY are!!! (with my nubby little fingers)

Ill let you know how it all turns out and show you what I get when they come! because lets face it, who only wants to open the mail box and get bills??
