Once upon a time, In a spring-ISH time of year on a Sunday morning a pregnant lady showed up at the hospital. Some time around lunch time a precious ball of wrinkly flesh was coo-ing in a pink blanket.
Welcome to the world ... ME!
Sweet little me was a kind child (or so i have been told... when I wasn't tripping my brother who was 3 years older than me, to climb on top of him and slap him around I was a sweet ball of cuteness.)
If you can look past the sexy 'bowl-cut' style of the early '80s (I honestly remember sitting on a stool in the kitchen as my mom slapped a bright orange Tupperware bowl on our heads... so cruel. )
So this year i turn 27. Not a HUGE milestone in the multiple groups of ages. But a birthday non-the-less.
In trying to live life to the fullest and experience all things life has to offer me, I have compiled a 30 x 30 list. Thirty things that I want to accomplish in the next 3 years before my 30Th Birthday. Like a bucket list ...only you don't die in the end. I found it a little difficult since the rules I set for it were: *Things I wont already do eventually (buy a house, have kids, fall in love, etc...) *Things I have NOT previously done (difficult since i have done A LOT in 27 years) SO I present my list... - Stay up all night and watch the sun rise.
- Participate in a celebratory event for a different culture.
- Buy myself something impractical just because I like it. (jewelry?)
- Attend a huge sporting event
- Grow and eat my own vegetables
- Take a hot air balloon
- Build something useful to use (something more than a bird house)
- Take a road trip all by myself
- Go sky diving
- Walk the golden gate bridge
- Certify in scuba diving
- Ride something bigger than a horse.
- Go to a major rock star concert.
- Fix an entire Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner by myself
- Get/learn to use a gun
- Learn to ride a motorcycle
- Go fishing in Alaska
- See an active volcano
- Write in my journal once a week until its filled.
- Make a piece of art I would be proud to display in my home
- Find 5 books that inspire me (not just cover art...but actually READ THEM!!)
- Write a letter to a missionary every month for their whole mission.
- Compile my memories for posterity.
- Name a star
- Surprise some one that I love
- Organize/ create my own cookbook (for my own personal use)
- Attended a taping of a TV show
- Have dessert at Serendipity's
- See one of the natural wonders of the world
- Volunteer outside of the USA (habitat for humanity?)
Wish me luck.
Oh Ryanne.... How I love thee! I do wish you luck with all of those many great and wonderful things. I really like your list. Its a lot better than I would have come up with. My list would be for 4 years long though... does that mean I would need to come up with 40 things? jk. I hope you have a Happy Birthday!
