Dear Diary ....

A few years ago I got really bored with my journal topics. It seemed it had gone from something you could totally expect from me, to 'Dear Diary, today I ...' not quite what I thought my future posterity or some military man digging thru the rubble of my belongings after some horrific natural disaster (yes... I pretend that will happen and they will sit and read my journal for hours laughing and crying- or its some ancient text in thousands of years- ok, ok feel free to stop laughing at me ) I often write in the style of an interesting book. Kind of like how I blog (yes... there are tons of pictures in my journals too) but it was getting a little drab. So in a search, thank you google, I came up with lists, topics, and a web sight that gives weekly "journal" or blog prompts. Some times I use them, sometimes I don't. But i figure since its the beginning of a whole new year, I figure one goal would be to get back in the habit of writing in my journal. I gave a lesson in church last week and one of the sections was on getting to know yourself and being comfortable being alone. I think one way to do that is to "talk to yourself" via the written word. Asking questions to yourself is one of the best ways to do that- whether its religious questions, what your political stances are, or even how you feel about popcorn. Plus I usually get a chance to sit and think about the ways that I have seen the Lord work in my life. Helps me feel more greatful.

Well after all that Ill get to my point : I have decided that the very first entry in 2011's journal will be this: "What would you attempt if you knew you would not fail" I haven't yet decided if i will limit my answers to something intellectually, spiritually, emotionally or physically - or maybe just have a journal writing palooza and hit them all. And while I rarely think I have anything to really contribute to the written word via journal entries, I plan on giving it my best shot.
Happy New Year Friends!
I hope its a good one full of fun, laughter, friends, family and great sales on shoes *wink*
