I know it looks more like food storage, or delicious fiber bars of yummyness, or just a box- but stick with me and I'll tell you why this is going to triple my IRA
In case you didn't know, I work for a hospital. I work for a group of Dr's. If you have ever worked for a Dr you would know that it takes a "special" kind of person to become one. A Personality that is a little odd and different from the rest of the population and usually requires an AMAZING person to work for them (yes, I mean me) .... but I digress...
This is the story:
To keep from running to the hospital gift shop for a bag of sweetish fish, or gum every time my 2o'clock snack-attack hits, I brought a box of fiber bars to stash in "my" drawer. You know the one. The drawer with a toothbrush, or lotion, or Tylenol or whatever... I added these to my drawer.
One day one of the Dr's asked if I had anything to munch on since he didn't have time, energy, or desire to run to the cafeteria. I dug out a fiber bar and he ate it raving about its goodness.
Shortly after that, I started to notice that they were slowly disappearing from there box. (I didn't care, since I like the name brand Fiber One bars and just got these ones one late night at Wal*mart... you can call me snooty if you want) So I bought another box "just in case" I needed one since the first box was empty. Well those ones disappeared too.
So I bought another....and another...and another....and another.....(Keep in mind, to this day I have never eaten one)
Here is why, and here is the reason I call it my retirement plan.
Because when the box is empty, in a green cup I keep my spare change in , is deposited $5. (The fiber bars only cost about $1.50)
That my friends is $3.50 I didnt have before.
When I retire in the Grand Caymans you are all more than welcome to visit :)

I love that! Do you know who the "perp" is? ;)
ReplyDeleteI do know who he is- Dr Not-So-Sneeky :)
ReplyDeleteNot only is it $3.50 you didn't have before, but it's more. Figure there's what 6-8 bars in a box @ $5 per bar, minus the initial $1.50. You're pulling in a $28.50-$38.50 profit! I think you'll have a house boat in the caymans. . . .
